Congratulations to our Year 12 Hospitality students and Ms Grech for preparing delicious meals for Vinnies. In this cold weather, these warm, home-cooked meals will be deeply appreciated by those in need.

Mary MacKillop Feast Day

On Friday August 8 we celebrated the Feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia’s first canonised saint and a woman of deep faith, courage, and compassion. Mary’s unwavering belief in the dignity of every person inspired her to dedicate her life to the education and care of those most in need. Her famous words, “Never see a need without doing something about it,” continue to guide us in our mission today. As a school community, we give thanks for her legacy and ask for her intercession as we strive to follow her example in faith, service, and love. Congratulations to our Year 10 MacKillop students for their wonderful leadership in guiding the day and running the activities. Your enthusiasm and teamwork made the event a great success.

Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary – 15 August

RE3.png

On Thursday, we mark the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – a Holy Day of Obligation and a celebration of hope and promise. The Church teaches that at the end of her earthly life, Mary was assumed body and soul into heaven, a sign of the destiny promised to all who remain faithful to God. As the mother of Jesus and model of discipleship, Mary’s Assumption reminds us of the dignity of every human life and the call to live with faith, humility, and trust in God’s plan. May Mary, assumed into heaven, pray for us.

August 2025 Intention

For mutual coexistence

Let us pray that societies where coexistence seems more difficult might not succumb to the temptation of confrontation for ethnic, political, religious or ideological reasons.
