Year 1 Science
Our Year 1 scientists put their creative thinking to the test in a hands-on exploration of design solutions. Tasked with building the fastest possible marble run using only six sheets of A4 paper and one metre of masking tape, students applied planning, problem-solving, and plenty of teamwork.
Then came the twist: redesigning their creations to make the marble travel as slowly as possible! This engaging challenge not only highlighted key concepts in motion and design but also sparked imaginative thinking and joyful experimentation in every classroom.
What a fantastic start to the term—it’s wonderful to see our learners so engaged in purposeful play!

Year 3 History
Our curious Year 3 students stepped back in time to explore the rich cultural heritage of the world’s oldest living continuous cultures—Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
As part of our learning on Indigenous Australians’ deep connection to Country, culture, and community, we investigated significant NSW archaeological sites, including the Willandra Lakes Region, home to the incredible discoveries of Mungo Man, Mungo Lady, and the Mungo footprints—evidence of human life stretching back over 42,000 years.
To bring history to life, our budding archaeologists rolled up their sleeves and took part in a hands-on excavation challenge! Using only a toothpick as our archaeological tool, students carefully extracted artefacts (chocolate chips) from the "cookie earth." Gaining a fun but meaningful insight into the patience and precision required in real archaeological digs.
Through this activity, students deepened their understanding of the significance of sacred sites, the role of archaeology in preserving Aboriginal histories, and how these stories connect all Australians to Country.
We are so proud of their respect, enthusiasm, and growing appreciation for Australia’s First Peoples and their enduring legacy.

Year 5 Drama Improvisation
During Creative Arts this term, 5M have started to develop their confidence through the art of improvisation. We are currently exploring the elements of drama and practising these through a range of games. 5M are working towards a final drama performance later in the term. Check out some of our action shots.
