St Matthews Competes at Diocesan Netball Competition in Orange
On Friday July 25th July, our talented netballers travelled to Orange to represent St Matthews in the Diocese Netball Competition. Two Year 7/8 teams and one Year 9/10 team took part, with the girls meeting at school bright and early at 5:45am, full of energy and excitement for the day ahead.
The Year 7/8 teams played five games each, while the Year 9/10 team competed in six matches against strong opposition from across the Diocese. Although none of the St Matthews teams progressed to the finals, the girls displayed outstanding commitment, teamwork, and skill throughout the day. Their attacking play and ability to transition the ball down the court were clear highlights.
The day was filled with fun, great sportsmanship, and a true sense of school spirit. The girls embodied the St Matthews Way and represented our school with pride and determination.
Mrs Elston and Mrs Johnston were extremely proud of the girls’ efforts and are excited to see them continue to grow as players in future tournaments and gala days.
