Do to others as you would have them do to you" (Matthew 7:12)

In the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus is asked, “How do I inherit eternal life?” The response is that of “Love God and Love your neighbour". He then tells the story of the Samaritan man to explain who our neighbour is.
Jesus includes the outcast—demonstrating that God's kingdom is open to all who love their neighbour. The answer to the question ‘Who is my neighbour?’ is ‘Anyone who is in need’.

Life, Pope Leo says, ‘is made up of encounters, and in these encounters, we emerge for what we are.’ The pope reminds us to stand with the examples of circumstance, wherever we find them.

As we aim to enliven our St Matthews Way Value of Compassion this term @SMCS, May our school be a place where mercy is alive, where no one is left behind, and where kindness is not just spoken but lived each day.

May we be Good Samaritans in our classrooms, our staffrooms, our playgrounds and our homes, bringing healing, hope, and belonging to all.
