RE Happenings
On Sunday, the Catholic Church celebrated Pentecost Sunday. This day is seen as the birthday of the catholic church as the apostles were sent the Holy Spirit to continue the work of Jesus in building the Kingdom of God. It is a timely celebration given that in 2 weeks we welcome Bishop Michael to our Parish to confirm a large number of our Year 6 students in the Sacrament of Confirmation.
This Sunday is Trinity Sunday, celebrating the mystery of our God; one Godhead but three persons in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
These recent events on the Church calendar are opportunities for families to grow in faith together. Families can participate by attending Mass, praying together at home, and discussing how the Spirit guides them daily.
Another opportunity is to enliven our St Matthews Way Values. Families can share stories of courage, just like the disciples showed, when having to spread the Good News. By living out this value, and the other SMW values, families help build on a strong Catholic identity and support the call of each one of us to be more.
