From the Head of Campus
Year 11 & 12 Parent Teacher Night
Thank you to all the families who took the opportunity to speak about their child’s learning at the Stage 6 - Years 11 and 12 Parent Teacher Interviews held this week. These are an important element in supporting our students to strive for excellence - whether it’s affirming what they are already doing or being provided with suggestions for growth and improvement.
Athletics Carnival
Thank you to Mr Barry Neaverson - Smith for organising a wonderful secondary Athletics carnival held on Wednesday 4 June. It was great to see students taking the opportunity to run; jump; throw on a crisp winter day - actually it was much warmer than anticipated!
Unfortunately there was greater absenteeism than a normal school day. Parents and students are reminded that our carnivals (swimming, cross country and athletics) are compulsory school days, and attendance therefore is not optional.
St Matthews is not a smorgasbord
whereby families and students can pick and choose what to participate in. A reminder that absenteeism from compulsory school days may affect a student’s ability to represent the school in other co curricular areas - including sport gala and pathway opportunities.

School Attendance
As we move into the winter months we would expect absenteeism to increase slightly. The CEDB have created the following flyer to remind us of when we should attend, and when it’s ok to ‘soldier on’.
