Vinnies Winter Appeal
Students are encouraged to live out our core value of service by contributing to the Vinnies Winter Appeal. A simple act—donating just one can of food—can make a meaningful difference. Each week, our local St Vincent de Paul conference supports around 15 to 20 families in need. Your generosity will help bring warmth and comfort to those doing it tough this winter.
Items students are asked to donate:
Infants and Year 3: necessities including cereal, tea, coffee, sugar, pasta, rice, shelf milk, pasta sauce, margarine.
Year 4: Tinned spaghetti
Year 5: Tinned fruit
Year 6 and Year 10: Tinned baked beans
Year 7 and Year 8: Tinned soup
Year 9, Year 11 and Year 12: Tinned vegetables
Feast of Pentecost
On Sunday, June 8, we celebrate Pentecost, one of the most significant feasts in the Church’s liturgical calendar. Occurring fifty days after Easter, Pentecost marks the moment when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary, just as Jesus had promised (Acts 2; cf. Acts 1:4–8). This powerful event empowered the early Church to begin its mission of spreading the Gospel to all nations. Often referred to as the "birthday of the Church," Pentecost reminds us that through the Holy Spirit, Christ equips his followers to continue this mission of love, hope, and discipleship in the world today.
Fr. Cong visits our Year 10 students
Fr Cong came and spent an hour with 10C/D on Friday May 23. The students had written down any questions they had regarding the Catholic faith for Fr Cong. Fr Cong’s responses were most informative.
The students particularly enjoyed his breakdancing at the end of the lesson!
