Some buzz-worthy news from the English Department…

Last week, St Matthews had two Year 10 students compete at the CEDB annual Spelling Bee.

Layne Bannister and Oliver O’Brien competed against each other and other representatives from the Diocesean schools, spelling words like ‘luminescent’, ‘scintillate’, and ‘blasé’, the boys did us proud. 

A special mention to Oliver, who managed to place 2nd in his final year of competing!
