O'Connor Feast Day
All students (K-10) in the O'Connor house will be holding a celebration afternoon next Wednesday 26th February at the Primary Campus.
Purpose: Eileen O’Connor’s vision to provide healthcare to the poor and vulnerable at a time of no government support is inspiring. Eileen demonstrated incredible courage in the face of immense trials both physically and socially. The St Matthews Way value of Service is represented by the colour yellow as is the house which has a patron who so beautifully demonstrates this value.
Venue: St Matthews Primary Campus - Gymnasium
Time of Departure: Primary O’Connor students will remain on site as normal and come together at 1.00pm to commence the celebrations. Secondary O’Connor students in Years 7-10 will depart the Broadhead Campus at 12:50pm.
Transport: Secondary students will travel by bus to Lewis Street and are asked to find their own transport home either via bus from Lewis Street or other means of transport.
Students will be dismissed at 3:10pm
Activities: The day will include a liturgy acknowledging the work of Eileen O’Connor followed by lunch, cake, buddy reading and activities amongst the students of O’Connor House.
Home Activity: This year we are asking for families to complete an activity at home and return the statements to their child’s secondary tutor or primary teacher after the event
Dress Code: Students may wear sports uniform or clothing of their house colour, yellow. Neat clothing and enclosed footwear.
What to Bring: Water, hat and lunch. An afternoon tea will be provided.
