RE Happenings
Service Learning
We are thrilled to announce a new service-learning initiative at St Matthew's Catholic School, aimed at building compassion, understanding, and meaningful connections with our elderly community. This term, our students have been visiting Whiddon Mudgee Pioneer and engaging in enriching activities with the residents.
During their first visit, students shared lunch with residents, learning their stories and forging new friendships. The following week, they spread festive cheer by helping decorate a Christmas tree and assisting with Christmas craft activities.
Vinnies
On Tuesday, November 3rd, our newly formed Vinnies Conference attended a Parish St. Vincent de Paul meeting to observe how it operates. Students also received a guided tour of the Vinnies shop, where they learned about the essential role volunteers play in its success.
A heartfelt thanks to our local Vincentians for welcoming us and guiding our efforts as we follow their example of service.
Pope’s Monthly Intention
December: For Pilgrims of Hope
This month, Pope Francis invites us to pray that
“this Jubilee strengthens us in faith, helps us recognize Christ risen in our lives, and transforms us into pilgrims of Christian hope.”

Easter Art
Students from Years 8–10 have been hard at work creating their entries for the 2025 Easter Art Competition. On Friday, December 6, we are excited to welcome artist Ted Lewis, who will join our students to offer advice and encouragement as they refine their pieces.
A special thank you to Mrs. Burton for her dedicated support and mentoring of our budding artists. We can’t wait to see their inspiring creations!
